Product Warranty Policy
Last Updated: August 17, 2026
This policy explains the warranty that applies to products bought from Red 1 Airsoft, how to make a claim, and how warranty cover sits alongside your legal rights as a consumer.
Warranty Cover
Most products sold by Red 1 Airsoft carry a 12-month manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, running from the date of purchase. Some brands offer longer or shorter terms — where a product's warranty differs, it is stated on the product page or in the manufacturer's documentation supplied with the item.
Come to us first. If something goes wrong, contact Red 1 Airsoft rather than the manufacturer. We assess the item, and where the claim needs to go to the manufacturer or UK distributor we deal with them on your behalf. You do not have to chase anyone yourself.
What Is Covered
- Manufacturing faults in materials or workmanship.
- Internal components failing under normal, intended use within the warranty period.
- Electrical or mechanical failure not caused by misuse, modification or neglect.
- Items that arrive faulty, incomplete or not as described.
What Is Not Covered
- Fair wear and tear — airsoft guns are used hard outdoors and consumables wear out.
- Consumable and wear parts including BBs, gas, batteries, o-rings, nozzles, seals, hop rubbers, bushings, piston heads and pinion or bevel gears where wear is the cause.
- Accidental damage, drops, impacts, crushing, or damage caused in transit after delivery.
- Water damage beyond normal field exposure, and damage from immersion.
- Damage from incorrect battery use, including over-discharged, swollen or incorrectly charged LiPo batteries, wrong voltage, or the use of a non-balance charger.
- Damage from poor-quality or incorrectly sized BBs, or from failing to lubricate and maintain the product as the manufacturer instructs.
- Any modification, tuning or upgrade, whether carried out by you or a third party. Opening the gearbox, changing the spring, fitting aftermarket internals, or overvolting will normally void the manufacturer's warranty. See below.
- Cosmetic marks, scratches, paint wear and finish deterioration from use.
- Products used outside their intended purpose, or used illegally.
- Products where the serial number or manufacturer markings have been removed or altered.
Modifications, Tuning and Upgrades
If you or a third party modify, tune or upgrade a product, the original manufacturer's warranty may be voided in whole or in part. Red 1 Airsoft is not responsible for work carried out by third parties, or for any consequence of it. We strongly recommend using only qualified technicians.
Any modified product must still comply with UK statutory kinetic energy limits and with our published site FPS limits. A modification that pushes a gun over the legal limits may take it outside the legal definition of an airsoft gun entirely — see our Age Restrictions & Airsoft Legal Compliance Policy.
Where a fault is unrelated to the modification, we will still put the claim forward. Whether it is accepted is ultimately the manufacturer's decision.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
- Contact us. Email shopify@red1airsoft.com with your order number, the product, a clear description of the fault, when it started, and photos or video showing the problem. Video is particularly useful for intermittent faults.
- We assess. We will respond within 2–3 business days and may ask for further detail or ask you to try a simple diagnostic step first — many faults turn out to be battery or hop-up related and can be solved without sending anything anywhere.
- We authorise the return. If the item needs to come back, we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and tell you where to send it. Do not send anything to our registered office or shop address before contacting us — returns without an RMA cannot be accepted.
- You send the item back. Package it securely, include the RMA number inside, and use a tracked service. For confirmed manufacturing defects we provide a free return label.
- We inspect and resolve. We inspect the item and, working with the manufacturer or distributor where necessary, arrange a repair, a replacement, or a refund.
Gas and pressurised items must be fully vented before shipping. Batteries must be shipped in line with carrier rules — ask us first if you are unsure.
Turnaround and Outcomes
We aim to inspect returned items within 5–7 business days of receipt. Where a claim goes to a manufacturer or overseas distributor, resolution can take longer and we will keep you updated.
The usual outcomes, in order of preference, are repair, replacement with the same or an equivalent product, or a refund. Where a product has been discontinued we will offer an equivalent or a refund. Repairs may use reconditioned parts of equivalent quality.
A repaired or replaced item carries the remainder of the original warranty period, or 90 days from the repair, whichever is longer.
If the Fault Is Not Covered
If inspection shows the fault falls outside warranty — misuse, modification, wear, or no fault found — we will tell you before doing anything else and quote you for a chargeable repair. You can accept the quote, ask for the item to be returned to you (return postage payable), or ask us to dispose of it. We do not carry out chargeable work without your agreement.
Your Statutory Rights
A warranty is offered in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If they are not:
- You have a 30-day right to reject faulty goods from delivery and get a full refund.
- Between 30 days and six months, you can require a repair or replacement. If that fails, you are entitled to a refund, which may be reduced to reflect use. In this period it is assumed the fault was present at delivery unless we can show otherwise.
- After six months you retain rights for up to six years in England and Wales, but the burden shifts to you to show the fault was present at the point of sale.
Nothing in this policy limits those rights, and you cannot be asked to waive them.
Proof of Purchase
Keep your order confirmation or receipt. We can usually locate your order from your email address or order number, but a warranty claim on an item bought elsewhere — including second-hand or from a marketplace seller — must go to the original retailer.
